Harrow International School Shenzhen Qianhai obtained the School License issued by the Management Committee of China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Qianhai & Shekou Area of Shenzhen on 7th September 2020 (license’s code: 4403132020001). By following the “Temporary Management Measures of the National Education Commission on Opening of Schools for Children of Foreign Residence”, “Guidance on the Management of Schools for Children of Foreign Residence of Guangdong Province”, “Reply of the State Council on Relevant Policies Supporting the Development and Opening Up of Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone in Shenzhen” and other relevant policies and regulations, the school is fully permitted and qualified for school operations and enrolment.

Recently, a media representative, without informing the school in advance, broke into the parking area during school dismissal time to film the school in the presence of a lot of children and parents, which led to a physical conflict between a security guard of the property company and the media representative. On the day of the incident, the Chinese Principal promptly apologised to the injured media representative in person and sent him flowers as a gesture of sympathy. The school also asked the property management company to further investigate and address the issue. On 30 November, the property company has already terminated the labour contract with the security guard and promised to improve and train the security team to take proper approach to comply with the epidemic prevention regulations required by the government, and in maintaining the safety of the school for students and teachers. At the same time, the school hopes that media personnel can make appointments in advance, show the relevant certificates, and conduct their activities with the permission of the school and in accordance with the regular process. 

Regarding the school bus service, more than 10 school bus routes are provided, and all are running in good condition. In this case, the parent did not accept the time allocated for the school bus to pick up the child at their station. Subsequently the parent gave up the bus service herself. The School at no stage cancelled the school bus service. 

With regards to the education consultation fee, we are looking into the matter. 

Today, the Head Master and the Chinese Principal of the school accepted a joint interview conducted by Guangdong Radio and Television and the Shenzhen Evening News in response to the questions raised. During which, the School also formally apologised to the reporter and Guangdong Radio and Television, and provided the relevant school certification materials.
