Early Years Center
Fiona Morris
Head of Early Years
Fiona Morris has worked with and led teams in the implementation of the National Curriculum of England and Wales, International Primary Curriculum and International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IBPYP) for the past 25 years. She also has been leading Early Years teams insettings in the Czech Republic, Vietnam and China. She holds a BEd Hons in Primary Education and an additional Post Graduate Certificate in Education.

Andrew Magee
Key Stage 2 Leader
Andrew Magee graduated from New York University. He later obtained an MA with distinction in Childhood Education from Mercy College in New York. Most recently, Mr. Magee was awarded a Certificate of International School Leadership from the Principals’ Training Center as well as a second MA with distinction in Educational Leadership and Innovation from Arizona State University. Mr. Magee has taught for seventeen years in New York, Chengdu, and Hong Kong, primarily in Key Stage 2.
Amy Clarke
LS STEM Teacher
Amy Clarke graduated from the University of Wolverhampton with a BSc in Physical Activity and Exercise Health. She then supported the development of several health and wellbeing programmes, including NHS England. After several years, she gained her PGCE in Primary Education from Exeter University. Before moving to Harrow Shenzhen, Miss Clarke taught at a STEM school in Qatar.
Natalie Dirkze
LS Class Teacher
Natalie Dirkze graduated from Christchurch College of Education with a Bachelor of Teaching and Learning with Honours and has nearly 20 years teaching experience. She has taught students from NE up to Year 8 at various primary schools in Christchurch and London. She has spent the past 5 and a half years working as a Deputy Principal at a Year 7 and 8 intermediate school.
Sophie Velthooven
LS PE Teacher
Sophie Velthooven is an educator hailing from New Zealand who specialises in Physical Education, Health and Outdoor Education. With a Physical Education degree from Otago University and a Graduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning from Canterbury University. She brings eight years of teaching experience to Harrow Shenzhen.
Regina Xu
LS Counsellor
Regina Xu got a Master’s degree in Positive Psychology in Education from the Education University of Hong Kong and a Master’s degree in Counseling and Psychotherapy from the University of Redlands. She has the Certificate of Youth Mental Health First Aid and the High School Teacher Qualification Certificate in Psychology. She was a primary school counselor at different International schools in Beijing.

Nicolene Kuyper
US Head of Science
Nicolene Kuyper is a South African-Canadian educator with over two decades of teaching experience. She holds a B.Sc. (Hons) from the University of Guelph and a B.Ed. from the University of Western Ontario, with a specialization in Chemistry and Biology. Nicolene later earned her M.Ed. from the University of Hong Kong in 2016.
Throughout her diverse career, Nicolene has taught in various international settings, including Canada, Berlin, and Hong Kong, where she spent 11 years at an ESF IB World School. For the past three years, she has been Head of Year and Head of Experimental Sciences at a school in Suzhou, China.
Justin Hughes
US Head of History
Justin Hughes graduated from the University of Glasgowwith an MA in History & Politics. After working for a number of years inthe business sector he gained his Postgraduate Certificate in Education inHistory in the UK and is now in his 20th year of teaching. Justinspent 10 years as Head of Senior School in The Netherlands and Qatar and hasalso previously taught in China and New Zealand as well as the United Kingdom.
Camilla Myers
US Head of English Literature
Camilla Myers has a BA in Literature and Linguistics, and her PGCE from the Institute of Education in London. She has over ten years of teaching experience, working in secondary schools in London, Manchester. She specialises in teaching Literature, and has been shortlisted twice for the Cambridge International Dedicated Teachers Award.
An-Ting Liao
US Science Teacher
An-Ting Liao gained a Master of Science in Biotechnology at Manchester University and a Doctorate in Chemical Engineering at Heriot-Watt University. An-Ting was actively involved in developing novel chemical manufacturing technologies and was a co-inventor of two international engineering patents.
Ava Wallace
US English Teacher
Ava Wallace graduated with a BA in Film Studies from Falmouth College of Art and gained a MA in Writing for Stage and Broadcast Media from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. She worked as an EAL Teacher in Japan, Germany, England, Portugal and Myanmar.
David Smith
US English Teacher
David Smith brings a wealth of International teaching experience having spent over 18 years teaching abroad. He has earned a PGCE in education from Nottingham University, UK. Career highlights include developing the inaugural English programme at Thai Christian School in Bangkok, Thailand where David served as the head of English.
Jacolynne Rabie
US Math Teacher
Originally from South Africa, Jacolynne Rabie earned Bachelor of Education degreewith majors in Mathematics and Information Technology from the esteemed University of South Africa. With over seven years of teaching experience, she has developed astudent-centered approach that emphasizes interactive learning andcollaboration.
Maria Ma
US Math Teacher
Maria Ma graduated from the Ocean University of China with a Master of Mathematics. She began her teaching career as a Maths and Further Maths and progressed to Deputy Head of Maths at an international secondary school in Qingdao. Recently, she was awarded the winner in Pearson Edexcel China Teacher Competition for IAL Mathematics.
Gabriel Oliveira
US Economics & Business Studies Teacher
Gabriel Oliveira holds a B.A. in Global Studies with minors in Economics and Portuguese from California’s San José State University. He will be teaching Upper School Economics and Business Studies, drawing on his experience in AP Economics, AS-Level Economics, and AS-Level Business Studies. Gabriel’s versatile teaching history includes U.S. and World History, Geography, and elective Portuguese.
William Mitchell
US Geography Teacher + Head of House (Day)
William Mitchell graduated from the University of Swansea with a BA(hons) degree in Geography. He then completed his PGCE at University of Bristol. After teaching spells in Australia and Ghana, Mr Mitchell settled at Reading Blue Coat School. There he has been Housemaster, Senior Housemaster, School Partnership Coordinator, and his most recent role was Head of Year 8-13.
Lisa Johnston
Head of House (Night) + Geography Teacher
Lisa Johnston graduated from University College London with a BSc in Geography and furthered her studies through a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. Lisa has taught in London for 12 years.

David Mckay
WS Head of PE
David Mckay graduated from Chichester University with a bachelor’s degree with QTS in Physical Education. He has been teaching PE for 26 years (from teacher to Director of Sport), as well as being a pastoral leader for 9 of those years. He has taught in the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Qatar, Prague and Malaysia as well coaching football.
Scott Greenwood
WS PE Teacher + Head of House
Scott Greenwood earned a bachelor’s degree in sports development and Physical Education and earned his Graduate in teaching from the University of Auckland. Scott has worked in the United Kingdom, New Zealand and China.
