Harrow Diploma Activities (HDA)

The purpose of our activities programme at Harrow Shenzhen is to encourage our students to broaden their horizons, develop a breadth of practical, interpersonal and transferrable skills and thereby to enrich their curriculum and help them to acquire and hone the leadership attributes required to traverse our everchanging and complex world with confidence and resilience. Harrow Diploma Activities which takes place from 3pm to 4pm each day is tailored to empower students to explore new and varied interests, to reach high levels of competency through instruction; whether academic enrichment, sporting, creative and performance, linguistic or service orientated and to excel and lead others in these pursuits. With over 210 activities, the possibilities and student potential are limitless.

Harrow Diploma Activities provides opportunity for students to demonstrate leadership and service, including:

  • The LSA programme (including student-led activities)
  • Leadership and service expeditions and trips
  • The Shaftesbury Enterprise (Charity Committee)
  • Community and Service projects
  • The JASS Junior Achievement Award
  • The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award
  • Academic enrichment and the Super-Curriculum
  • House competitions and events
  • Student leadership roles (the Student Council and House Leaders)

In order to complete the Leadership & Service Curriculum, we would encourage students to participate in a range of activities across the academic year.

Harrow Diploma Activities encourages participation and offers opportunities to develop and hone the six Leadership Attributes (iRules) of all Harrow Schools:

  • Solving problems collaboratively (iTeam up)
  • Solving problems creatively (iCreate)
