Pre-Prep School

Pre-Prep Phase (age five to eleven)

Our pre-preparatory curriculum is designed to provide a holistic education with our students needs firmly at the centre. The Harrow Values, of Courage, Honour, Humility, and Fellowship provide our students with a morale compass for the rest of their life. It is our duty to prepare our students for an ever-changing world. We do this through our digital literacy programme and the context in which our curriculum is taught. This approach gives meaning and provokes deep-thinking about relevant topics such as Climate Action, No Poverty and Innovation Week. The unique Harrow leadership Attributes is built on a 450 year tradition of the importance of leading and serving others.

At Harrow International School, Shenzhen, we have designed our curriculum by blending the English Curriculum with a strong Chinese culture component.  The curriculum focuses on the teaching of the core subjects of English, Mathematics and Mandarin and Topics with includes Science, Geography and History. It is complemented with a range of additional subjects such as Physical Education, Drama, Art and Computing. In the Lower School, there is an emphasis on the development of literacy through the acquisition of phonics in Early Years, Year 1 and Year 2. Students will then progress to develop their vocabulary use and writing as they move through Years 3, 4 and 5 in readiness of their transition to Upper School.
